Basics
Kata - Bunkai - Yakusoku
Every class is built with calisthenics, body conditioning, and functional weighted movements fit to each person. Perfect for building strength for techniques used in practical scenarios on the street. This not only increases your ability as a martial artist but also supports your overall health, strength, and longevity.
Without constant practice, basic skills — fundamental exercises, blocks, strikes, grappling, and throws within Shorin-ryu Shorinkan or any martial arts system — would be much less effective, and in many cases counterproductive.
These video clips above are very basic examples of Kata and Bunkai. Kata are the core and heart of traditional Okinawan martial arts, rooted in nearly two centuries of experience. It is what enables every technique to be used in practical situations and sparring.

Instruction
These are examples of a couple of activity-based training exercises the kids participate in. In the many more activities that the kids engage in class they learn how to use their techniques in a practical manner while keeping them focused and enjoying class.
More important things the youth learn through training are: respect, self-control, honor, discipline, structure, regimentation, and better behavior, all while improving skills.
Being a Sensei is not just about the punch and kick. On top of the rooted traditional structure of martial arts and hands on training the kids also learn life-impacting lessons that will carry on in their life at school and into adulthood.

Tai Chi Weapons
Qi Gong is a core piece of Tai Chi. Along with the basic exercises shown above, routines also include acupressure points enhancing the overall health and stress reducing benefits of the class.
Weaponry is an extension of Acclaim Martial Arts' Tai Chi practice and includes: fan, spear, and sword. It's enjoyable and an interesting skill with ancient weapons, yielding added dexterity and balance for practitioners, which strengthens both mind and body.
