Shorin-Ryu Shorinkan
Traditional Okinawan Shorin-ryu Shorinkan is one of the most authentic surviving lineages of Okinawan Karate-Do, preserving the techniques and principles handed down from the island’s earliest warrior-teachers. Rooted in the teachings of ChÅshin Chibana, the last student of the legendary Anko Itosu, Shorin-ryu Shorinkan carries forward the original kata, fighting concepts, and training methods that shaped modern karate.
Under the direction of Grand Master Hanshi Minoru Nakazato, and leadership from Kyoshi Noujaim, Shorinkan became known for its precise kata, lightning-fast striking, natural body movement, and practical self-defense applications. Built on a foundation of speed, balance, and efficiency, the system reflects the old Okinawan belief that true martial arts should develop both character and real-world fighting ability.
